Hi, I’m Franklin!

You can call me Frank, Franklin, Dr. Frank, or really anything you want, as long as your kind to me and give me lots of pets. I’m a first generation Labradoodle, whatever that means.

I love getting to go with my mom (Courtney Hart) to her office in Bel Air or popping onto the screen during Telehealth sessions to say hi. Lately, I’ve even gotten to go walk on the trail with my mom and some clients, and that’s double the fun for me!

I’m pretty big - about 90 pounds they say - but don’t let that intimidate you. I’m a gentle, lovable guy who is content to lay at your feet and let you give me belly rubs during your session. If you want to, you can try to teach me a new trick or walk on some other tricks I already know. Some other friends of mine have taught me things like “fist bump,” “roll over” and “bang!” They can get pretty creative, but I’m up to the challenge!

I’ve graduated from training at Paws for People in Newark and Sit Means Sit in Forest Hill. I used to get pretty excited and try to jump up when I was a puppy, but now that I’m nearly 5 years old, I know to wait my turn and stay on all four paws to get the love and attention I want. If you visit me in the office, you’ll see I have a “place” that I go to when you come and go. It’s part of my training. I finished my Therapy Dog courses, and I’ve been studying for my test - but COVID really slowed that down. Once I do that, I’ll be a certified Therapy Dog and get to visit even more people in the community! I can’t wait.

As much as I love people, I know sometimes dogs can be scary to some - sometimes I can even make people sneeze (although, because of my coat they say it doesn’t happen as much, it does still happen!). If dogs make you nervous or scared, or if you sneeze when you’re around furry friends, please talk to my mom, Courtney, before you schedule a session with us. I’m pretty much always with my mom at work, so we might not be the best pair for you but she knows some pretty awesome people, so there are other choices for you - or you can work with her through Telehealth instead.

Anyway, this is a lot for me to be typing and kind of hard since I don’t have thumbs. If you have more questions about me, email my mom Courtney, or set up a free consultation with HHW! I hope to meet you soon. Oh yeah, did I mention I have an Instagram? My mom is pretty bad at keeping it updated, but you can follow it anyway - @franklinthedogtor.
