Hi there,

I’m Courtney!

Practice Owner
Clinical Social Worker

pronouns: she/her/hers

I’m not a ‘bot’ that’s going to sit there, nodding along, and endlessly asking, ‘How do you feel about that?’

Okay, let’s be honest—I probably will ask you that at least once…

My approach is collaborative and client-centered, led by the goals you have and the insights you bring.

I won’t pretend to be an expert with all the answers— nobody has those—but I’m here to share my knowledge, gained from lived experience and professional training, in mental health and neurodiversity to support you on your journey.

Together, we’ll explore how your brain and body work, so you can better understand yourself and your experiences, and work on developing individualized skills and strategies to navigate the challenges you face.

About Me - The Professional

I specialize in supporting ADHDers, PDAers, and Autistic folx, including twice-exceptional individuals identified or suspected to be gifted. Through evaluations and consultation, I help clients better understand their neurotypes, supporting them in understanding their unique experiences, advocating for their needs more effectively, and accessing appropriate supports. I also assist with processing experiences and strategies for energy regulation, executive function, and navigating family dynamics, including sensory needs within the home.

In 2018, I founded Healing Hart Wellness to offer therapy free from the bureaucratic barriers of traditional systems. This allowed me to provide individualized services, with Franklin, my therapy dog, a supportive addition to even virtual sessions. Together, we’ve provided supportive individual and family therapy, led social groups, and supported education systems in becoming more supportive of their students through consultation and professional development sessions.

I am passionate about making complex concepts, like nervous system regulation, approachable and actionable, and I can "make any activity therapy" by creatively adapting sensory activities and seamlessly weaving strategies into conversations and play. This approach led me to naturally develop a niche working with high-masking, anxious, and internalizing individuals and their families. In a compassionate and collaborative space, I help clients identify strengths, explore their experiences, and create strategies to navigate the world authentically in values-aligned ways.

About Me - The Person

Outside of being a mental health professional, I have many roles, including wife, stepparent, and fur mom to two dogs and two cats. I’m a serial project starter with an insatiable curiosity, so I’m often on several side quests at a time, both professionally and personally. Staying busy and off screens helps my brain work better, and I try to balance this by being outside with my dogs, hiking, or playing in the yard. Slowing down with writing, yoga, or meditation also helps me find calm amidst the busyness.

If you want to get me distracted—don’t worry, I’ll get us back on track quickly—just talk with me about your special interests or some of mine: animals, space exploration, music, and understanding the human experience. I’ve loved reading and writing, both fiction and non-fiction, for as long as I can remember—though I’ll admit I sometimes struggle to finish them. I’d love to hear what you’re reading, listening to, or learning about lately. As an adult, I’ve also started gaming during downtime, mostly cozy or open-world games—I’m not super competitive with games or sports.

I’ve worked hard to regulate my often-busy mind and body, always swirling with energy and ideas. I’m grateful for the helping professionals who have guided me, the wisdom I’ve gained from traditional eastern philosophies, and the lessons life has taught me. These experiences have strengthened my ability to understand and support my clients.
